⌁ FLY CIRCUIT
COMPUTATIONAL FIELD NOTES / EXPERIMENT 001
TEN NEURONS. ONE LITTLE WORLD.

Instinct, wired by hand.

A tiny spiking brain finds the light. Watch the signal become a turn.

fixed weights. always.

01Sense the world

Left and right photoreceptors sample visible light. Mechanoreceptors cast rays toward walls, signalling obstacles before contact.

02Let the circuit decide

Hand-set, fixed synaptic weights are wired, not trained. Each neuron integrates current, leaks, then fires at its threshold.

03Turn toward a possibility

Two descending neurons steer by their firing-rate difference. Region-inspired labels describe a small model, not a real fly connectome.
